Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Duties include but are not limited to: The staff neurologist is an independent practitioner providing day-to-day care of Veteran patients, both in the inpatient and outpatient settings either by face to face encounter or telehealth modality. This care includes but is not limited to performing a comprehensive medical history and neurological exam; determining diagnosis; developing a treatment plan which may include, laboratory tests, imaging tests, and follow-up evaluations. The staff neurologist will also provide advice to patient's family members as needed or requested. The staff neurologist provides consultations to all primary care physicians and other specialty care physicians throughout the facility and VISN 4. Administrative, direct patient care and teaching are all integrated into the activities and decision processes of the staff neurologist.
- Deliver guideline adherent evaluation and management of neurological conditions. Care will be delivered in an outpatient clinical setting no less than one half day per week. Includes direct patient care, patient and family teaching, staff education and multidisciplinary consultations and collaborations.
- Perform inpatient neurology consultation proportional to total number of VA 8ths.
- Develop/disseminate neurology education materials for patients and colleagues
- Establish a consistent, guideline adherent approach to care, standardize EMR documentation, applying HRO/learning health system principles. It is expected that medical record data will be usable for research and for continuous Quality Improvement Initiatives.
- Participate in the education of Fellows, Residents, and PA students, NPs, Medical Students.
- Collaborate in research initiates involving VA data or veteran recruitment.
- Build and maintain relationships with management, co-workers, patients, and the general public are consistently courteous, respectful, and cooperative in nature.
- Display a cooperative attitude and will effectively work together to implement the organization's mission and goals.
- Ensure that productivity is maintained at the established level for the program for which he/she is responsible.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm EST., with after hours and weekend consult coversage proportional to clinical 8ths, distributed across the division.
