Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

The Staff Physician, Cardiology, is assigned to the VA Augusta Health Care System, Specialty Care Service, providing comprehensive, efficient, compassionate, high-quality healthcare to all patients, functioning as a member of the inter-disciplinary team providing clinical care to the patients at VAAHCS in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The staff physician, cardiologist responsibilities include, providing medical evaluation and directing overall management of patients in collaboration with other members of health care team. Supervision and education of Internal Medicine Residents and medical students is required. See new and returning cardiac patients, document, and code in the Computerized Patient Record System CPRS.
Major Duties/Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Provide consultations, via telephone and/or E consult, from VA Augusta and associated CBOC's
- Interpret various noninvasive diagnostic tests such as electrocardiograms, ambulatory rhythm monitor recordings, Stress Tests, and echocardiograms
- Supervise administering echo contrast during echocardiograms as needed
- Interrogate cardiac devices, if properly trained
- Participate in inpatient consult service
- Participate in on-call rotation
Work Schedule: 8:00am to 4:30pm, and additional coverage per discretion of Section Chief and/or supervisory alignment.
