This is an
OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until
June 26, 2026. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be
February 17, 2026, with subsequent cut-off dates on the 1st of each month. Eligible applications received after that date will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur on an as-needed basis until positions are filled.
Major Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform general cardiology clinical care, including in-patient consultation, out-patient consultation and out-patient clinic.
- Perform echocardiography, exercise and pharmacologic stress testing, Holter monitor an electrocardiogram interpretation, diagnosis and management of arrhythmias.
- Takes an active role in the evaluation of the patient, decision for treatment/care, and documentation in the patient electronic records.
- Serves on service level and/or hospital committees as needed and participate in the facility peer review program.
- Maintains professional competency, courtesy and flexibility or provide the necessary services of this specialty.
- Possess strong clinical, leadership, and communication skills with a commitment to academics.
- Maintains a record of successful practice management and excellent clinical skills.
- **All other duties assigned based on the needs of the Medical Facility.
Work Schedule: 8am-4:30pm; however, subject to change, depending on the needs of the service/medical center.
Contract Buy Out Program: This position may be eligible for the Physician / Provider Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP), which authorizes VHA to buy out service contracts (Locum agreements, loan repayments, sign-on bonus contracts, Physician-owned practices) in exchange for employment at certain rural or highly rural facilities for a period of obligated service (minimum 4 years).
