Clinical Laboratory Scientist

About the Position: This position is located at Fort Polk, Louisiana.

This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

Responsible for developing, maintaining, and reviewing a Quality Improvement (QI), Quality Assurance (QA), and Quality Control (QC) program for all sections of the laboratory. | Develop internal monitors and coordinate and conduct studies to evaluate the quality and appropriateness of patient care provided by the laboratory. | Prepare reports on any event or incident related to the quality of service provided by the Department. | Prepare the Laboratories and Point-of Care sites for inspections. | Plan orientation and training of new personnel and recommend suitability for night and weekend work.

Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing. | A pre-placement medical examination is required. | Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. | Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS. | Applicants must be able to fulfill non-privileged professional credential requirements. | Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact.
