This position is eligible for
the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
The position is based at the Jacksonville VA (JAX 1 VA Clinic) under the section of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism within Medical Specialties Service. The JAX VA 1 clinic and the Gainesville (GNV) VA are integrated facilities. The appointed endocrinologist will report to the Chief of Endocrinology at the Malcom Randall VAMC in GNV while practicing out of the JAX VA 1 clinic
Duties include:
- Evaluating, treating and monitoring a variety of endocrine related conditions in the outpatient clinic setting,
- Performance of ultrasound-guided fine needle aspirate (FNA) thyroid biopsies as needed.
- A comprehensive consultative clinic is available for patient referral as necessary.
- A wide spectrum of patients including those with diabetes, thyroid disorders, and non-diabetic endocrine disorders are evaluated and treated.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
