This position is eligible for
the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. The Miami VA Health System (MVAHCS) is seeking a gastroenterologist eager to practice clinical medicine in an academic teaching environment. MVAHCS is a core teaching affiliate of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine; medical students, residents, and fellows rotate at our facility. Protected time for research and administration can be offered for exceptional candidates. The candidate must be committed to quality patient care and teaching related to GI and liver disorders. For the advanced endoscopy specialist, proficiency in EUS, and ERCP is required. Third space endoscopy is desirable but not mandatory. Excellent facilities and equipment are in place. Our GI service provides some remote care through telehealth and video visits.
The physician will participate in the education and supervision of house staff including GI fellows, residents, and medical students. There are numerous opportunities for exceptional clinical research and collaboration in research projects.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Works in out-patient clinics as assigned for treatment of gastroenterological/liver-related and other conditions.
- Performs History and physicals on all assigned patients.
- Participates in (Gastro) Clinics and/or manages independent clinic.
- Provides Patient and family communication and education as necessary.
- Participates in education of medical and (Gastro) residents and nursing staff.
- Responds rapidly in emergency situations and keeps medical staff informed of all changes in a patients' condition.
- Consistently demonstrates expertise in diagnosing and treating (Gastro) patients and performing diagnostic tests.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday- 8:00 Am - 4:30 PM
