Clinical: 100%The staff physician practices in the outpatient clinic setting at the expert level, The staff physician is academically and clinically prepared to be responsible for managing the full spectrum of primary care. Primary care at ECHCS includes, but is not limited to, assessment, diagnosis treatment, and monitoring outcome measures of healthcare problems of patients presenting with internal medicine concerns. A nonexclusive list includes the following:
- Performing histories and physicals x Initiating and adjusting therapeutic regimens
- Ordering medications/supplies in accordance with VA policy and the VA formulary
- Providing appropriate follow up care
- Triage of patients with non-medicine complaints, diseases, and injuries to appropriate disciplines for diagnosis and treatment
Physicians have been granted clinical privileges by the Medical Staff. The physician will work in a team setting with other physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and support staff assigned to perform duties to accomplish the treatment of ECHCS Veterans. Computer skills are essential as ECHCS is fully computerized for note documentation, entering orders, and requesting consults.

EDRP Authorized: This position is eligible for
the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
