The Chief of Medicine is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality medical services at the Rochester VA Clinic. This position combines clinical expertise with essential administrative functions to ensure optimal patient care and operational efficiency within the facility.
Duties include the following but are not limited to:
Clinical Responsibilities (30%):
- Patient Care: Provide comprehensive patient care, ensuring individualized treatment plans
- Evaluation and Treatment: Perform evaluations, develop treatment plans, and oversee the implementation of care strategies
- Follow-Up Care: Monitor patient progress through follow-up consultations and adjust treatments as necessary
Administrative Responsibilities (70%):
- Primary Care Management: Oversee primary care services, ensuring effective delivery and accessibility
- Specialty Care Coordination: Manage specialty services, including optometry and podiatry, facilitating patient referrals and collaboration among providers
- Employee Health Support: Implement and oversee health programs for employees, promoting a safe and healthy workplace environment
- Provider Credentialing and Privileging: Lead the credentialing and privileging processes for medical staff, ensuring regulatory compliance
- Clinical Metrics Monitoring: Regularly assess clinical performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and enhance service quality
- Action Plan Development: Develop and execute action plans derived from clinical performance reviews to optimize healthcare delivery

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm
