This is an

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Work Schedule: Full-time, schedule to be coordinated by your supervisor. An occasional Saturday clinic or a weekday extended hour clinic; however, subject to change, depending on the needs of the service/medical center.
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Clinical Duties:
- General Surgeons manage, diagnose and treat conditions affecting the Alimentary Tract, Abdomen and its contents; abdominal wall; breast, skin, and soft tissue. Provide direct patient care to include, but are not limited to: history and physicals, medication management, evaluation of diagnostic tests and treatment planning, clinical reminder completion as applicable. Responsibilities include evaluating health risks, assisting with the workup of a patient, and treating the patient, when appropriate.
Administrative Duties:
- Document all medical information in an electronic medical record and to perform medication reconciliation.
Education Duties:
- Instructing and educating General Surgery Residents
