This position is eligible for
the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)

Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Perform initial evaluation, enter admission orders and admission History and Physical for patients admitted to non-ICU beds on the Medical Service.
- Perform daily rounds, enter daily progress notes, and coordinate care for non-ICU patients hospitalized on the Medical Service.
- Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions and treatment options.
- Lead the intra-disciplinary team and engage sub-specialty consultants to provide care for non-ICU patients hospitalized on the Medical Service.
- Prepare patients for discharge, enter a Discharge Summary and coordinate transitions of care.
- Electively participate in the Medical Education mission of the Hospitalist Section in coordination with the University of Florida Internal Medicine Residency Program and University of Florida College of Medicine.
Work Schedule: Tour of Duty will be 7 days on/7 days off, 12 hour shifts from 7AM or 7PM. Shifts may include days, nights, weekends and holidays. Hours subject to change depending on the needs of the facility.
