Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30 pm
Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Incumbent is assigned as the Section Chief of the Palliative Care Section of Medicine Service, VA Central California Healthcare System (VACCHCS). VA provides patient centered care, delivered by engaged, collaborative teams in an integrated environment that supports learning and continuous improvement.
The Veteran's experience and health outcomes are improved with an emphasis on prevention through healing relationships in an optimal healing environment.
The incumbent must have outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills as a member of the VA professional health care team and providing continuous veteran-centered care and services to family members.
Major duties include, but are not limited to:
- Development and implementation of a comprehensive healthcare delivery system in coordination with the VHA Mission
- Maintaining a collaborative partnership with all other service chiefs and leadership at VACCHCS
- Oversight of the various sections within the service and ensure they are compliant with VHA policy
- Maintain privileges and practice in his/her specialty field
- Ensuring high-quality patient care is delivered in a resource-efficient manner
- Participating in the selection of qualified professional staff and ensuring that recruitment and hiring meet VA and academic affiliation requirements
- Other duties as assigned.
