Duties to include:
1. Clinical Care:
- Perform interventional procedures such as angioplasty, stenting, and other catheter-based treatments to address coronary artery disease and other cardiovascular conditions.
- Provide comprehensive cardiovascular evaluations and consultations.
- Manage acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions for veteran patients.
- Interpret cardiac imaging studies, including echocardiograms, stress tests, and catheterizations.

Patient Management:
- Oversee the care of patients before, during, and after interventional procedures.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and evidence-based guidelines.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, surgeons, and nurses, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Provide patient and family education regarding disease management, treatment options, and preventive measures.
3.
Procedural Expertise:
- Maintain proficiency in the latest interventional cardiology techniques and technologies.
- Ensure all procedures are performed in accordance with established protocols and standards.
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives related to interventional cardiology services.
4.
Education and Training:
- Serve as a mentor and educator to medical students, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in continuing medical education (CME) to maintain and enhance clinical skills.
- Engage in teaching activities within the medical center and affiliated academic institutions.
5. Research:
- Contribute to clinical research initiatives focused on advancing the field of interventional cardiology.
- Participate in the design, implementation, and dissemination of research studies.
- Collaborate with other researchers to promote evidence-based practices within the cardiology department
6. Administrative Responsibilities:
- Attend and participate in departmental and medical center meetings.
- Contribute to the development of policies and protocols to improve cardiovascular care.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records in compliance with VA standards.
- Participate in peer review and other quality improvement activities.

Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): This position is eligible for
the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
