Duties include but not limited to:
1.
Clinical Care:
- Provide comprehensive pulmonary care to veterans diagnosed with respiratory conditions.
- Diagnose and treat pulmonary diseases, including but not limited to, COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, and lung cancer.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as chest X-rays, CT scans, pulmonary function tests, and bronchoscopy procedures.
- Develop treatment plans based on the best available scientific evidence and clinical guidelines.
- Conduct follow-up appointments and ongoing management of chronic respiratory conditions.
2. Inpatient Services:
- Provide inpatient care in the ICU and general medical wards for patients with respiratory and related conditions,
- Participate in on-call duties and provide consultations to other services within the Robley Rex VA Medical Center.
- Assist in the management of mechanically ventilated patients and participate in multidisciplinary rounds.
3. Outpatient Services:
- Conduct outpatient clinics, including new patient evaluations and follow-up visits.
- Educate patients and families on disease prevention, management, and treatment plans.
4. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including primary care physicians, specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in case conferences, departmental meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide advice and consultation to colleagues within the VA Medical Center and associated outpatient clinics.
5. Research and Education:
- Engage in clinical research projects and contribute to the advancement of pulmonary medicine.
- Provide education and training to medical residents, fellows, and other healthcare staff.
6. Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic medical records system.
- Comply with all VA regulations and guidelines, including privacy and security policies.
- Participate in the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Participation in the on-call schedule for inpatient and ICU coverage)
