Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The candidate will be a Staff Physiatrist and will report to the Chief of PM&R, expected to practice in accordance with professional standards, core values, and with a commitment to service excellence. Will carry an appropriate clinical workload, take part in continuing medical education (as defined by licensure), and will be involved with quality assurance and performance improvement activities. As a physiatrist you will provide clinical coverage in clinics such as general Rehab outpatient rehab, electromyography (EMG) lab, spinal cord injury, polytrauma, rehab amputee clinic, and other clinics as delegated.
- Routinely perform outpatient musculoskeletal and neuromuscular exams to diagnose and treat, to emphasize function, rehabilitation, pain management and injury prevention along with patient wellness. Prescribe therapeutic interventions, works with the rehab therapists, as well as other health care providers as needed to establish a comprehensive and integrated rehabilitation program for the Veteran.
- Safely performs and designs electrodiagnostic studies including electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction studies, with accurate interpretation, diagnosis, and documentation.
- Competent in performing routine joint and trigger point injections.
- Collaborate with and oversee multidisciplinary team and mid-level providers in the management of patients in Spinal cord injury/disease clinic.
- Complete consultations, notes and reports in a timely manner and the results are made readily available to the referring practitioners.
- May be required to provide coverage at prosthetic clinic with prosthetic and orthotic evaluation and treatment.
- Promote and assist with telehealth practice and activities.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM compressed schedules available
