- Fluoroscopy privileges and certification
- Central venous line insertion and management

- Interpret EKGs
- Interpret holter monitors
- Cardioversion
- Use of thrombolytic agents
- Pericardiocentesis
- Arterial puncture
- Temporary trans venous pacemaker placement
- Intra-aortic balloon pump insertion and management
- Percutaneous coronary intervention cardiac catheterization and angiography
- Stress test interpretation
- Participate in the educational programs for the section personnel as well as the medical staff.
- Participate in monitoring the quality, safety and appropriateness of patient care, both at the Section and facility level. Miscellaneous activities of the Medical Service inclusive, but not limited to special projects that help fulfill and/or enhance the mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs as assigned by the Chief of Cardiology, Chief of Medicine, Chief of Staff and/or the Charles George VAMC Executive Leadership
- Attend Cardiology team meetings
- Demonstrate ethical conduct and serve as a positive role model to others at all levels of the organization
- Participate in quality assurance programs and chart reviews
- Attend Medicine Service monthly staff meetings and COS quarterly meetings as per bylaws
- Complete medical records in accordance with Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff
- Participate in Medical Staff committee assignments
- Perform other duties assigned by the Chief of Medicine or his Associate.
- Participate in, and attend, CME activities and VA continuing educational activities

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply for incentive. Contact

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
