NOTE: The salary range of $385,000 to $400,000 would be for a full time position. The salary for this position will be pro-rated on the actual hours worked.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide educational instruction and training for University of Oklahoma residents/fellows assigned to Gastroenterology rotations at the VA.
- Review medical history and conduct a detailed physical exam.
- Interpret laboratory and diagnostic results.
- Diagnose GI conditions and assist and/or perform procedures.
- Assess and treat patients in the inpatient and outpatient areas.
- Perform screening examinations, complete History & Physical exams and progress notes.
- Perform basic diagnostic procedures.
- Prescribe inpatient and outpatient medications.
- Write appropriate orders for inpatient and/or outpatient treatment.
- Preferred experience in research, gastroenterology, hepatology, anorectal and motility disorders
- Experience specialty skills of procedural endoscopy, colonoscopy, endoscopic mucosal resection, variceal band ligation, polypectomy, stricture dilation, manometry and impedence ph reading, small bowel enteroscopy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography and Endoscopic Ultrasound experience, and anorectal motility reading preferred.
- Participate in on call rotation

. This position is eligible for
the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
