About the Position: This position is located at Martin Army Community Hospital at Fort Benning, Georgia. Work is performed in an outpatient physical therapy setting. General work hours 0700-1530.

Plan, coordinate, and administer diverse physical therapy programs for wounded, ill and injured patients under the general supervision of the Physical Therapist. | Utilize various modalities of physical therapy, as prescribed, such as diathermy, hydrotherapy, massage, electrotherapy, ultrasound and therapeutic exercise. | Implement progressive patient treatment plans designed to restore and maintain range of motion, strength, endurance, coordination, and relaxation. | Design treatment plans with consideration of patient’s medical history and which promote healing, pain relief and improvement of functional independence. | Educate patient and/or and family members about application of physical modalities for home environment to include precautions and contraindications. | Track treatment plan effectiveness and report problems to supervisor.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes implementing physical therapy treatment plans; and instructing on physical therapy programs or providing physical therapy program status reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

License/Certification: You must submit a copy of your current, active, valid, and unrestricted Physical Therapy Assistant license or certification from a state, District of Columbia, or territory of the United States.

Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS. | This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire). | Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position. | This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing. | This position has been designated Mission Essential.
