This position is eligible for

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

The West Palm Beach Mental Health Service reserves the right to adjust placement as the need arises in a shifting environment as it is dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based care to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. The recruitment is for the Mental Health Service, and the assignment to the specific mental health service program may vary and/or change in the future at the discretion of the mental health service leadership and based on either the service and /or facility needs. The role of the Psychiatric Provider is integral to our mission of delivering high-quality, compassionate care. This position involves diagnosing, treating, and managing psychiatric disorders within a multidisciplinary team framework.Duties include but are not limited to:
- Conducts inpatient psychiatric evaluations, consultations, group therapy/treatment in an inpatient setting.
- Provide treatment across the full spectrum of DSM 5 diagnoses. Modalities of care include face-to-face interventions as well as telemental health (TMH).
- Provide cross coverage to other clinical sites throughout the West Palm Beach VA Health Care System via telemental health as needed.
- Responsible for providing psychiatric care for mental health services, identifying Veterans' mental and medical health needs and designing diagnostic and therapeutic plans to meet these needs.
- Serves as the medical subject matter expert within their assigned team.
- Coordinate activities of other health service personnel, resolving problems affecting Veteran care, and providing appropriate education for the Veteran and/or family members regarding the Veteran's care, condition, and its management. Care is provided in accordance with VA/DoD Clinical Practice Guidelines as measured by the Peer Review Program and various quality metrics.
- Provide on-call and on-duty as assigned during WHEN (Weekend, Holiday, Evening, Nights) hours
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
