Major Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assess and treat (both pharmacological and psychological) of psychiatric outpatients, and inpatients as needed, consultative evaluations, and, if necessary, basic medical assessment of psychiatric patients.
- Provide care for patients with a variety of mental disorders, including mood disorders, psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, cognitive disorders, and others.
- May participate in research projects.
- Prescribes medications including controlled medications.
- Provides and documents education and counseling of patients and patients' families in preventive care, medical treatment, and the use of prescribed medications.
- Performs history and physical examinations.
- Performs psychological counseling, crisis intervention, and group therapy within the scope of the clinician's training.
- Completes and updates treatments plans, suicide risk assessments, safety plans, and other mental health quality metrics within established timeframes.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm, (on-call schedule as needed)
