The LVN assumes the following responsibilities:
1. This position requires flexibility in schedule and assignments, as this is a 24/7 hospital.
2. BLS certified.
3. Obtains/collects specimens as ordered.
4. Participates in performance improvements.
5. Administers medications and treatments to patients with complex nursing problems.
6. Participates in daily DMS huddles and unit specific staff meetings.
7. Participates in coaching and mentoring of colleagues or new employees.
8. Performs and documents within the electronic medical record.
9. Completes CPRS documentation and closes encounters per facility policy.
10. Provides timely patient follow-up.
11. Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
12. Seeks opportunity for self-improvement and participates in performance improvements.
13. Collaborates and communicates effectively with the Interdisciplinary Care Team.
14. Documentation is factual, objective, accurate, consistent, timely, and complete.
15. Documents and signs all patient related activity within tour of duty.
16. Assists with coordinating care of patient.
17. Adhere to ethical principles and standards in delivering care.
18. Communicate with team members regarding patient care.
19. Seeks opportunity for self-improvement.
20. Demonstrate mandatory and clinical competencies of the position.
21. Implements nursing interventions/orders in a timely and complete manner.
22. Recognizes changes in patient's condition and deviations from baseline that require immediate intervention.
23. Provide patient education related to managing risk factors, medications, procedures, and other medical regimens related to disease process/specialty clinic, within scope of practice.
24. Educates patients on provided discharge instructions related to their disease process, ensuring the patient can ask questions.
25. Recognizes changes in patient's condition and deviations from baseline that require immediate intervention.
26. Apply infection control measures appropriately in delivering care.
27. Alerts providers (physicians/nurse practitioners) of abnormal signs and symptoms and/or abnormal test results to expedite care.
28. Performs other duties, as assigned.
Preferred experience:
- At least two years of ambulatory setting experience.
- At least one-year minor procedure experience.
- Experience working in a critical care or inpatient area (e.g., ED/ICU)
- Experience in working in a dermatology clinic, specifically Mohs procedures.
- Experience working in a specialty clinics or special procedures.
- Experience in developing projects, improving patient satisfaction, or clinic flow.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, between 0600-2100, 8-Hours
