Duties and Responsibilities to include:Patient Care:
- Perform thorough skin examinations on veteran patients.
- Diagnose and treat a variety of skin conditions, including but not limited to acne, eczema, psoriasis, and skin cancer.
- Perform dermatologic procedures such as biopsies, excisions, cryotherapy, laser treatments, and cosmetic procedures (e.g., Botox, fillers).
- Provide patient education on skin health, disease prevention, and treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of veterans.
Collaboration and Consultation:
- Collaborate with primary care physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals within the VA system to coordinate veteran care.
- Provide dermatologic consultations to inpatient units and other outpatient services as needed.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and quality improvement initiatives.
Clinical Research and Education:
- Engage in clinical research activities aimed at advancing the field of dermatology, with a focus on improving veteran health outcomes.
- Mentor and provide education to medical students, residents, and other healthcare staff within the VA system.
- Stay current with advancements in dermatology through continuous education and participation in professional organizations.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters in the VA's electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and quality improvement projects.
- Ensure compliance with all VA regulatory and accreditation requirements.

This position is eligible for
the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
