Duties
Direct day-to-day operations, assign tasks, evaluate performance, and identify training and developmental needs of workforce. | Obtaining, allocating, and committing critical resources to advance the hospitalâs clinical quality and patient safety programs. | Manage the operational and capital budgets for the department. | Evaluate healthcare information technology, data analytics software, and reporting tools necessary to track clinical outcomes and meet federal regulatory mandates. | Review incident reports, safety data, and performance measures to identify organizational risks. | Oversee the coordination and alignment of Patient Safety, Infection Prevention, Healthcare Risk Management, Credentialing and Privileging, Accreditation and Compliance, Clinical Measurement, and Performance Improvement activities.

Minimum requirement for Supervisory Health System Specialist:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing or managing health care quality/safety programs; conducting comprehensive management studies and organizational assessments to identify operational deficiencies or process improvements; and preparing detailed analytical reports.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
